Stanthorpe Little Theatre
20 Connor Street, Stanthorpe
PO Box 130, Stanthorpe QLD 4380
For more than 25 years Stanthorpe Little Theatre Company has fostered community performing arts, drama and music for all ages, staging plays, musicals, concerts, variety shows, film nights and more. Stanthorpe Little Theatre is entirely run by volunteers who put in a huge effort to foster the performing arts while presenting quality entertainment and maintaining the theatre building. One of the ways you can help is to become a Member of Stanthorpe Little Theatre. As a member, you will receive our newsletters and concession prices for all our shows. You can also be an active member – by taking an acting role or helping out on-stage and/or behind the scenes. There are many things to do from acting and directing, to stage hand, set painter, props and costumes to putting up poster and handing out leaflets. Please contact us if you would like to be involved. We welcome new members.
Recent popular productions include the hilarious RADIO DAZE inspired by the days when radio programs were recorded in front of a live audience, the very popular TOAD OF TOAD HALL based on the beloved Wind in the Willows, THE CEMETERY CLUB a poignant comedy about love, friendship and letting go, CAPTAIN HOOK’S REVENGE, a pirate pantomime, THE SENTIMENTAL BLOKE, an iconic Aussie musical, and our annual SHAKESPEARE UNDER THE STARS at Bungawarra Winery.
Our STANTHORPE DIVAS concert, “La Luna” was scheduled for the end of November, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it is postponed until early in the new year, probably early February. Keep an eye on this website for the new date.
Last year the theatre was fairly bustling with activity – a play, a panto, a musical, Shakespeare and a concert, as well as rehearsals and renovations. With an aim to raise funds to improve the facilities, we have so far installed new heaters, re-carpeted the backstage area and acquired some new cupboards and props. The community has supported us well with full houses of happy theatre-goers. Thanks for your support.
