Liston Horse Info Day

This was held on Saturday 3rd September and brought speakers from Glenn Innes, Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, Ipswich and Brisbane. More than 30 visitors enjoyed finding out about pasture management, supplement feeding, dental care, herbal and natural health care, muscle therapy and Hendra Virus. Thanks to Stanthorpe Rural for their sponsorship which saw many attendees go home with some goodies for themselves or their horses.

Our next event continues the horse theme, with a Melbourne Cup lunch and fun day on Tuesday 1st November.

Liston's Biggest Morning Tea!

We had a yummy time over a table of home-made goodies on Saturday 4th June, raising over $280 for the Cancer Foundation.

Christmas party

Thanks to all who attended our recent Christmas party at the Liston Hall. We had a great roll-up despite miserable weather outside. Kids enjoyed games and seeing Santa arrive in the Fire truck, while the grown-ups played pool, chatted, danced, sang, had a drink and a good feed.

Fireweed

As everyone can see, the fireweed (Senecio madagascariensis) problem has 'blossomed' this year. UNE Armidale have a fireweed control research project underway. The goals of the project are to expand the current knowledge of the ecology, impacts and best practice management of fireweed and investigate biological control options. For more information see Fireweed Control Research at UNE.

The Children's Playground

You may have noticed a new addition to the CWA park across the road from the Liston Hall... a new park bench and a young tree. These were bought and installed/ planted by the CWA committee with funds leftover from their closure this year. Hopefully the tree will grow up to provide wonderful shade for parents watching their children play in the park, for many years to come.
